Haseluenne
can be found just before the Dutch border, Northwest from
Osnabrueck. In Haseluenne many of these typical old farmhouses
were destroyed. This was the reason for the city of Haseluenne
to create this Museum and preserve a piece of their history.
Over 700 kindharted residence in this city helped with the
restoration. Two of the houses and smaller building here are
heated with SanDomus base boards
Es stehen auf dem Gelände mehrere Häuser: Zwei
davon und ein Zwischenbau werden mit Heizleisten von SanDomus
beheizt.
The
special feature here is that the heater regulates the rooms
temperature in accordance to the level of relative humidity.
If the moisture levels rise up above a certain level, the
heater responds with a higher temperature. This is also done
with the outside temperature taken into consideration, too.
This is a necessary measure so that the wood is protected
from moisture damage. The two houses that our systems are
in have remained in top shape without any damage to the wood
interiors.
Just a few years ago the houses were in such bad condition
that the 30 by 30cm oak beams were falling from the ceiling
to the floor. That sad condition prompted the restoration
of the houses and the usage of base boards
A highly qualified architect took on this project and was
awarded a federal grant from the German government to pay
for the restorations.
The Univerities of Weimar, Hamburg, and the Fraunhofer Institute
of Wood are all involved with this project, and in the next
few years there will be a lot more progress made. We will
be sure to keep you updated with all of the details.
