One experience we had with a house near Murnau, Germany,
that wanted electrical outlets and phone jacks installed
in the Base boards. The problem was that this house
is protected as a historical monument and no holes
or modifications could be made to the walls. This
forced us to develop a way to accommodate pipes, wires,
and outlets together in the base boards. A 16 mm hole
needed to be drilled below the bypass line for the
cable. In the places where the outlets were to be,
the main pipe had to be lowered to create the space
needed for them. This same technique can be used for
cable and phone lines. If we could do use this technique
in every low energy house, this could eliminate the
need to install electrical system in the wall, because
the wires are hidden behind the heater face board.

Two 72 mm holes are drilled into the face board.

The cables are run parallel to the bypass line through
the specially drilled holes. At the place where the
electrical outlets will be located there are obviously
now aluminum heat plates. The main pipe is lowered
out of the way with the use of four 45 degree joints.

Now the electrical sockets can be set into place with
the wires running through the back of them to the
front.

Here everything is well prepared for the installation
of the electrical plugs.

The internal portions of the plugs are inserted
and wired.

This is how the double outlet should look fully installed.
